Blog Tour eARC Review & #Free eBook #Giveaway: Wet Paint (Transitions #2) by Will Parkinson

We would like to thank author Will Parkinson for donating an ebook copy of Wet Paint (Transitions #2), to one lucky commentator who gets chosen. Make sure to leave a comment below to get a free ebook copy of Wet Paint (Transitions #2).

WILL PARKINSON believes that no matter what obstacles are thrown in the path of young love, it will always find a way to win in the end. He wants his characters to have their happily ever after, but that doesn’t mean that it’s going to come easily. None of this would have happened if he had followed the advice he was given many years ago. “What are you wasting your time on that for? It’s never going to amount to anything.” He believed it for the longest time, abandoning characters he’d created in his childhood. He picked up his very first m/m story by a writer named Eden Winters, who was an absolute joy when they corresponded. She asked him if he wrote and he told her the story. Eden explained to Will that the voices in his head would never go away and how he needed to let them out. With that thought in mind, Will put e-pen to e-paper once more. It was truly a liberating experience and one he has no intention of giving up again.

Transitions: Book Two
Although Addy’s heart and body bear the scars from his life before he was adopted by the Deans, he’s ached for something he thought he would never find. Until he met Benny. He isn’t sure how anyone can care for someone as broken as he is, even though he wants it desperately.
High school senior Benny Peters has his whole life planned out for him, until a chaste kiss at summer camp opens a new world of possibilities. Determined to erase Addy’s insecurities, Benny works to take away his boyfriend’s pain and replace it with love.
When Addy’s past intrudes on their future, it’s going to take everything Benny can muster to show that no matter what–or who–they face, they belong together.

Love's First Kiss

Transitions, book 2, is now the story we all craved for: the romance between Addy and Ben.

Ben is the best friend of Taylor and when said friend needed to make up for grades in school, Ben went along with him. Between them, they successfully drew their counselee, Addy, from his withdrawn and quiet self into someone who could talk about his past and paint these out. What developed between Ben and Addy was something Taylor did not expect.

Ben had never had problems with academics, in fact, he was too smart for his level. It was his love for his best friend that made him decide at a very young age to go through school with Taylor. His parents were a burden though, for they pushed for academic brilliance and never once showed any support for Ben's personal needs. When he meets Addy, it was like a light lit up and he found the one person he wanted to be with.

Now, Ben is not someone who is illogical. Neither is he the type to jump into a situation without first thinking it out and weighing his options. His is a mind that is very logical so his relationship with Addy was logical. But will Addy think the same way?

Addy came from an abusive past and it is only thanks to his adoptive parents that he was on the road to normalcy. When he meets Taylor and Ben, he found the light at the end of the tunnel. Taylor for friendship and support. Ben, well, he was something else entirely. He was Addy's future. When an unexpected assault comes barging in, Addy withdraws. Now it is up to Ben to get him out of his hole once more - in his most logical and loving manner.

After Pitch, I never thought this would be sweeter and more romantic. For some reason, I see a brighter future for Ben and Addy. The trust that develops between these two young men is just beautiful to read. The way their budding relationship developed, it was more sure-footed. The love Ben had for Addy, that was just a WOW! factor for me.

This is really a story of how love's first kiss, unexpected, surprising, sweet and tasty, can be that one piece of time which could change the world for someone, or two. Yes, this is a sweet, sweet romance but it is far from mushy. Yes, this is a story of young love, but it is a love that has the best foundations for a bright forever.

A big shout out to Ms Reese Dante. Beautiful cover says it all.

Note: This series is best read in order.

Excerpt

ADDY SAT in the car, worry creasing his brow. Not even an hour ago, he’d been so happy. Why was he so nervous now? His thoughts drifted back to his conversation with his dad. Would Benny still want him when he found out what had happened? Would he think Addy was too broken? Addy shivered. He tried to tell himself Benny would never be like that, but how could he know for sure?
“What’s up, little man? I can hear you thinking from over here.” Benny chuckled.
“Nothing, Benny. I’m okay.”
“Addy, c’mon. I can tell you’ve got something on your mind. I need to know what it is. I can’t help if you won’t let me.”
Addy took a deep breath. “I’m afraid,” he admitted.
“Of what? Camp?”
“No... of losing you.”
“I don’t understand. Why would you think you’d lose me?”
“Benny.” Addy sighed. “I need to tell you some stuff. It’s not going to be easy, and it’s really not going to be nice.”
