Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.

My Rating: 4 of 5 Stars
Everyone knows I am a huge Cardeno C. fan and I remain one. She offers up such sweet romances that make me smile. Even the paranormal ones that are supposed to be angst and drama driven, make me smile.
In Blue Mountain, we have the stereotypical omega who gets humiliated, abused and kicked out of an alpha-driven pack community he grew up in. His mother, an omega herself, had been subjected to a lot of cruelty and rejection before being made to choose between pack and child. She chose her son and off they went. That was years ago and now, Simon Moorehead keeping his promise to his mother. That he would take her back to the pack lands. The very land they ran from.
Mitch Grant is one of twin alphas, but he is not the type to want or seek responsibility. He leaves that to his brother Frederick whom he backed when a challenge for leadership was thrown and won. Being a powerful alpha were was just one of his gifts. Being bigger than huge was another. As they take over the pack lands, Mitch works from and for home as an investment manager. His brain is the other gift.
Old habits rarely die quietly and that is exactly how some of their pack members discover the presence of a lone wolf. They smelled omega so their need to dominate ran strong. When Mitch smells his mate on them, he has no choice but to go and claim. 'Mine' and 'Mate' are thrown out here, as expected from a shape-shifter plot. What is not expected is Mitch's misery when his omega rejects his every more. How he manages to court his mate, risk being laughed at by his pack mates, and still manage to convince Simon that going to the pack Thanksgiving dinner is not life treatening, now THAT! is the real story.
This is story screams purely CC Romance. It is sweet, heartbreaking, endearing, romantic to the max and just managed to make me smile goofy the whole read so it is entertainment at its best. What I am not satisfied with, it is short and leaves me to want more, I really did not want it to stop. Yes, this is the first of the series, so I know the author will surely have more up her sleeve. In the meanwhile, we read and smile goofy.
