Mick Wheland, Ivory Tower's bad-boy guitarist, has recently realized two important things about himself. He prefers sex with men over women, and the idea of a committed relationship doesn't scare him as much as it once did. He's seen the positive effects of love from watching his band-mates find life partners, and now he's thinking he might be ready for the same himself. The problem is knowing where to look for Mr. Right, and living out of a suitcase while touring with a band is not exactly conducive to finding real love.Sonny (Rooster) Roostarelli leaves the seclusion of his Vancouver cabin, where he went to lick his wounds after a contentious divorce, and moves back to Los Angeles. He claims relocating to L.A. is for business purposes, but now that the dust has settled on his failed marriage, Rooster feels he might finally be ready to settle down – with a man.
A chance encounter for Wheland and Rooster on a busy L.A. street rekindles an old friendship between the two professional musicians. Rooster needs a short-term place to stay and Wheland has plenty of extra space at his hillside estate and that lands Rooster in Wheland's guest room. What starts out as a music collaboration opportunity quickly turns personal when the chemistry they have becomes too strong to ignore and soon the music they're making spills from the studio and into the bedroom.
The road is a grueling bitch musicians love to hate. Being on stage under the hot lights can sometimes be the only place they feel comfortable and alive. Can two high-profile rock stars make a life together in such an artificial world – on and off the stage... or will past mistakes and family secrets keep them from finding their forever?

Looking At Forever is Wheland's story. It tells us readers and fans how his thought processes ran. It tells us how he saw things from a point of view that was surprisingly different from what I thought him out to be. I mean, he was such an unattractive personality from what I had read in Make You Mine (The Rock Gods #3). Reading about him and seeing things from his eyes, it made me realize that the author led us through a merry-go-round and made us conclude incorrectly.
Wheland is, surprsingly, a deep individual. His history was kept from the band and how he did that surprised even his bandmates when he finally revealed what they were. His secrets were what drove him to be this supposed rock god who just really, truly, wanted someone to go home to. For someone else to support him. For someone to submit to him so he could do the same.
Yes, submit. If that does not clue you in, it spells consensual BDSM. So yeah, this tickled my fancy :D
Wheland's journey to self-discovery makes for a very good, interesting and intriguingly HOT! read. His journey smacks him fender to bender with Sonny Roostarelli whom he'd been freinds with for quite some time. They shared insurance information, a few drinks and then... yes, they shared more than just drinks after that first day...
Rooster had sequestered himself too long from the public but now found the need to work closer with his band mates. True, he was no longer actively working with them on the stage, but his compositions and guitar works were still active. He needed to have a change and moving back to California was the first step. When his rented car gets damaged from a little tap behind, he looks up and sees Mick Wheland, guitarist of Ivory Tower. He knew him, was friends with him. One shared drink and he gets invited into the home to stay for a bit and maybe jam for a while.
The move happened. The jams happened. The compositions flowed. Their shared secret glances happened as well. And that was the start of a beautiful friendship that slowly morphed into a love affair neither men expected but totally submerged themselves into. Their resulting love story is a beautiful romance.
Another Ann Lister magic here, peeps. If you love the Rock Gods series, you should pick this one up.
To date: this is my favorite :D
