Blog Tour, Review & #Giveaway: Kissing Alex (Bodyguards, Inc. #6) by RJ Scott

Title: Kissing Alex

Series: Bodyguards Inc #6

Author: R.J. Scott

Genre: M/M Romance

Release Date: April 25, 2016

Martial arts expert Lewis is the kind of bodyguard who slips under most people’s radar. Quiet, reserved, but constantly on alert, he’ll do his job, keep his charges safe, then relax by reading Shakespeare in his spare time.
When he’s given a case involving a spoiled celebrity singer, Lewis isn’t all that impressed. The job is nothing but babysitting a pretty boy, and he’s used to diplomatic postings with depth and challenge. What could he possibly have in common with the man he’s being forced to look after?
Alex became the envy of many when he and his fellow bandmates won second place in a huge TV talent show. He has more money than he knows what to do with, no life goals, an ex-boyfriend selling a sex tape and now, someone who wants him dead, or at the very least maimed.
Can Lewis keep Alex safe, even when things usually in his control go to hell? Is running to a remote Scottish island the only way for them to stay alive?

My Rating: 4 of 5 Stars

There is something about working for Bodyguards, Inc. The bodyguards are finding their forever loves and domestic bliss is bright in their futures. Lewis hopes to find that special someone, but first he has to make sure he gets his one month freed up so he can go back to his island and play laird. That is, until he gets an assignment he cannot refuse. Anger turns to frustration then concern when he reads the case file handed to him. Does he really have a choice?

Alex is part of a band that won second place in some talent show and enjoyed the perks that come with it. The only thing in his way is his management team who refuses to acknowledge that being gay does not mean cutesy pies and smile this way and that. When a video leaks out with him caught in a compromising position, all hell breaks loose and more. He now has to get himself a bodyguard and disappear. The bodyguard is attractive and Alex begins to think being under this man's protection puts him in more danger than he realizes. This time, his heart may just be in danger.

What I liked about this story is nothing's rushed. There is nothing instantaneous happening and best of all, the kissing. Someone said that they like MM stories and movies and such because of all the hot kissing and boy, can Alex and Lewis kiss. In fact, there is not a moment during their romance when Lewis did not crave kissing Alex. I can say, honestly, the kissing scenes were the best in their story. There was just something so sweet and romantic about the whole idea and reading it sets the heart to thump faster. Now, if only I can take my mind off Reeve Carney because he just kept popping in my head when I think of Alex. Of course that sets my imagination to a tailspin and wonder...sigh. Okay, I digress but that is how I see Alex.

This is a wonderful installment to the Bodyguards, Inc. series and now we finally have answers to the question of just who Lewis really is and what he's capable of. This also paves the way to the next book and I can't wait for what that will reveal.
