Review: Forbidden Moon (Be-Were 2) by Lexi DeHalo

Forbidden Moon (Be-Were 2)Forbidden Moon by Lexi DeHalo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A must read for those who want to know what comes next of the Be-Were Series. Great plot, great characters, great story line. The spanking was kinky too.

Adam Anderson must put aside his broken heart for his Pack. Taking on a dangerous mission deep within the mountains is a step in the right direction. When Adam is severely injured, he is rescued by a lone shifter with a past as troubled as his own. What evolves from there is a romance that awakens feelings he hasn’t had since the death of his mate.

After his pack’s betrayal, Cersin Everett swore never to trust again. He resigned himself to a solitary life far away from both pack and past. However, a hunting trip turned rescue mission brings him a man who can teach him what it means to hope again.

As Sin shows Adam his world, it becomes harder for them to deny their growing feelings. But theirs is a forbidden match, an unmated pairing. They will have to either surrender their newfound love or be torn apart by the world outside the sanctuary of Sin’s home.

Time and again I have been disappointed with the follow-up books of certain MM paranormal series. Many authors simply go the well beaten track of going for the commercial rather than actually putting down their hearts and minds into a story that would actually evolve rather than stagnate.

It is a great thing that Lexi DeHalo is not one to take that well-trodden path to commercialism and instead has come up with a paranormal series that actually develops in both plot and characters. Not just the main characters mind you: she manages to integrate the previous main characters into this next installment and its like just reading from another point of view.

There is a continuity to the Be-Were Series that I have been missing from the other series I have been following lately, much to my disappointment. It helps, too, that Ms. DeHalo has included some really smexy scenes that surprisingly developed the plot and the characters rather than made me fast forward the pages.

Yes, there are quite a lot of BDSM thingies going on, but for once I am not disappointed nor turned off.

For those of you who have read the first of this book, Mating Moon, make sure to read this one. It is a guaranteed page turner! For those who have not read any of the books, go ahead and take the plunge. You'll never regret it.
