No matter I just read the third book! Amazing story with lots of action. Didn't mind the mind boggling alien smex either.
Thousands of years haven’t been enough to bring an end to the conflict between humans and the aliens who share their world. But the last of the old Canton Wars has brought a fragile peace and the New Canton Republic’s been holding steady for more than a hundred years.
Colet is one of the alien race the humans call monsters, and she’s spent the last few hundred years living as a human female.
Then Colet meets Kyle.
Kyle has strong magic but it’s not enough to protect him from the assassins on his trail…
Colet doesn’t know why, but her desire for Kyle is beyond all reasoning and her determination to have him is beyond all thought. Kyle will be hers, even if she has to become someone else to have him...
But that’s okay, because Colet isn’t a woman, she’s a monster…
And she’s sure Cole’s going to be the perfect man for Kyle…
The time’s coming for the ages old conflict between species to end and magic’s got just the plan to make it happen.
Of Humans and Mates is the third book in the New Canton Republic trilogy, from the author of Of Mating and Monsters and Ian’s Choice.
Magic and monsters don’t mix...until they do. The result is explosive sex…and a magic so wild no one can stop it.
Wow! Amazing read! This one totally took me by surprise. I never read Odessa Lynne before but I took the risk of reading a third installment without knowing what happened to the first two and I have lived to tell the tale that this is one HOT!!!!!! book.
It's not just the well written plot, nor the well written smexy scenes that gripped my attention, it was the whole action scenes that worked so well they were quite graphic and filled with imagery, it made it hard to put down.
Okay, so I sound like a saleswoman or something, I really don't care. This book has all the elements of a great plot, a great story teller of an author and readers like myself who never read the first two books will definitely not get lost. Ms. Lynne could have easily gone wrong with this one, but she managed to make the background story integrate itself without seeming separate. This is definitely a recommended read.
On to the first two books now.
This story contains explicit sex and graphic language. Male/Male sexual content. Romance for anyone who likes hot male/male loving, mating, and magic!
Oh yes! It's an mpreg too - hilarious but true!
