It's that time of year again, when we welcome the coming of a new day. A New Year.
One tradition we have in my family is to celebrate the coming New Year with a food bang. Yes, that means I disappear once more into the kitchen to whip up some of the old and new favorites.
2013 was a great year, but it was also a trying one. Overall, I just wake up everyday and welcome the new day with a fresh perspective. I count the blessings I received and give thanks to the blessings I will yet receive. This is how I work, this is how I see life.
The future is not dim, it is just blurred, but with a positive attitude, I look to the future and smile, knowing that blessings will come in whatever form.
One of my favorite poems, (and yes, I do read poetry) is Robert Frost's, The Road Not Taken.
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
For me, this simply means that I will take to the future and travel its course, never minding I will not have a clue where it takes me. I would rather do this than keep looking back to that old road and regret.
Move forward. Keep moving forward and realize your dreams.
Wishing you all a very, very Happy New Year.
