Throttle Me

Suzy’s a control freak and has her life mapped out - work hard, find a man with a stable job, and live happily ever after. She’s content with the status quo, but her plan comes to a screeching halt when he enters her life and turns it upside down.
City gave up on love when his heart was crushed in college, preferring to be the typical bachelor. He spends his nights hopping from one bed to another and his days working at his family tattoo shop, Inked. A chance encounter on a dark road makes him question what he had sworn off forever – a relationship.
A night of passion and lust causes them to question everything. Is City the knight in shining armor to the damsel in distress? Can their relationship survive when a fantasy falls apart and a secret comes out that changes everything?
This is the first book in the Men of Inked Series.

Resist Me

Izzy Gallo has never been described as a member of the weaker sex. She’s a woman who doesn’t take shit from anyone. Growing up with four older overprotective brothers has hardened her, making her a force to be reckoned with.

Against the wishes of her two brothers, Joe and Mike, Izzy takes a weekend trip to Bike Week in Daytona, turning her world upside down.

Over her head, in a world she doesn’t understand, there’s only one man who can save her.

James Caldo has dedicated his life to protect and serve as a member of the DEA. He’s cocky, overbearing, and doesn’t take no for an answer – the Gallo men have nothing on him.

When their paths cross, James makes Izzy question everything she believes about completely surrendering to the opposite sex.

Does James have what it takes to overpower the headstrong Izzy, capturing her heart forever?

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Either Chelle Bliss made Men of Inked as a very quick read (although I doubt it since they're full length novels and one novella crammed with relationship tension between alpha males and their strong female partners) or I have a new addiction as I finished all four stories in two days. I'm inclined towards the latter.

Inked is a tattoo parlor owned by three brothers and their younger sister. Not so unusual unless you consider that the Gallos are intensely private people and answer to no one except their family. Each sibling, including another brother not active in the business, is extremely headstrong yet loyal to family, treating their parents' word as law. No character is alike, which makes for some very interesting dynamics.

Eldest brother City, Joey to his family, heads Inked, rides a Harley, and is known as one of the best tattoo artists in Miami. He's every inch a bad boy, yet his upbringing leads him to rescue a woman with a broken down car on the side of a dark, lonely road. Dark knight, yes, but how much is he willing to give up for Suzy? And is Suzy willing to let down her guard and bend her rules for a bad biker?

Mikey is a fighter in more ways than one. Not only does his attitude and smart mouth get him into trouble with his family quite often, he's using his fists in the MMA, too. Just as he's making a name for himself, he gets injured and is rushed to the hospital. There he's treated by a doctor so not his usual type yet is inexplicably drawn to. Can the fighter show that he's just as much of a lover and convince Mia he's not all just fists and brawn? Mia has a big heart and continuously sacrifices so much for the community she's come to love, maybe there's a little bit more there that she can give to Mikey.

A wedding comes up next, Joey realizing that there's no life for him without his Suzy. But his possessiveness and macho attitude may just cancel the wedding before it even happens. Granted, Izzy has a lot to do with his jealousy, however Suzy and Joey have a few more lessons to learn when it comes to love and trust.

Izzy, being the only girl and pampered princess, may have finally outdone herself when it came to being headstrong and willful when she gets herself noticed by an MC involved in illegal activities. Thankfully her undercover DEA brother Tommy is there to rescue her but getting her out means she'll have to spend some alone time with James, Tommy's partner, again. And she's not so sure what his reaction will be because of what she did to him at Joey and Suzy's wedding!

This family saga is a true joy to be part of; there's tons of romance and sexiness but not so much that the story is lost, a touch of mystery, and enough action and drama to keep things exciting. I think that's what made it interesting for me - the balance is perfectly crafted so it's not overwhelming on one side or the other.

Their parents are quite the pair as well. Romance is still evident in everything they do, although adoration may be a better word for what they have between them. Mr and Mrs G aren't perfect either, which is good because they appear to be very real and not just some storybook perfect role models for their kids.

Men of Inked is a beautiful creation from Chelle Bliss' imagination. I'd love to get my hands on the novella about Izzy and James and I'll definitely be on the lookout for Tommy's and Anthony's stories. The Gallos are addicting!
