My Rating: (5 of 5 Stars) 5

Do you know how timely this book was for me? I read this twice when the blog went OFF! and it literally was a saving grace. This is a story that took me away from the realities of life and allowed me to just wallow in a romantic, fantastical world of elves, fairies, gnomes, and all other magical creatures you can think of or not. You see, this is set in a magical world of a grotto. A grotto protected by Ansleigh, a leader. A prince of his kind, and the main man in this romantic story.

This book opens to Dylan Matthews finding out he is the sole beneficiary to his grandfather's most valued possession: Ansleigh's Grotto. A magical place he loved as a child then as a young man, but he had left in tears and revulsion when he was just a teen. When he left fifteen years before, that was the last of his memories of the beloved home.

Ansleigh had waited for so long for his Cosantoir  to finally be beside him. When he came, he was a young little boy whom he befriended and protected. When the young man came back, Ansleigh did his all to claim him and be claimed in return. The harsh realities of real life intruded into their love affair and Dylan fled the Grotto. Now he is back. After fifteen years, Dylan is finally within reach. Can Ansleigh hold on to logic and become the friend then lover to his true Cosantoir or should he just throw caution to the wind and claim the man and risk rejection?

Talk about true love. Romance that can only be found in fairy tales. Romance which imagery is so unique, it can take the reader far, far away from the harsh realities of life. This is a love story and it is passionate. It can withstand betrayal. It is a love that can withstand the test of time and become a forever kind of love.

JT! I have rated your previous works lower but this is such an exceptional read! This is a timeless story and it is unforgettable.

Dylan glanced up at the clock ticking away on the mantle. Two in the afternoon and his computer screen remained blank. Mr. Lordes would be expecting some sort of proposal on Monday morning, and so far Dylan had diddly-squat to offer him.  The afternoon was quickly disappearing and the damned Gala for the spring equinox was set to start at seven sharp. Silas darted around the place like a deranged honeybee in a field full of wildflowers. In the kitchen, pots and pans banged and crashed together as Aggie directed the servers and assistants hired for the party. It was little wonder Dylan couldn't focus. He sighed. In truth, it wasn't their fault. He'd struggled all week with the creativity block.
Quick footsteps and loud voices drew his gaze to the door. Adrian Garner rushed through with a garment bag hanging over his shoulder. Much more sedately, Silas followed. A look of concern marred his features. His reaction surprised Dylan. He rose slowly from his chair to face the two men.
“Hello, Dylan,” Adrian greeted him. A beatific smile curved his lips. “I had to do some rearranging and put off a few old fogeys, but I wanted to make this delivery myself. I just have to see how delicious you look in the new tux.” The bag swung in a wide arc over his shoulder and was dangled in front of him. Dylan reached for it and returned the smile.
“Thank you, Mr. Garner. You shouldn't have interrupted your day just for me,” Dylan said. “Silas could have taken this upstairs for me. I'm sure it will fit perfectly.”
“Which is exactly what I told him,” Silas interrupted and took the bag. He gave the tailor an uncharacteristic hard stare before taking his elbow and trying to steer him back to the foyer. “As I told you, Mr. Matthews is busy working on a project for work and was not to be disturbed.”
An electrical current whipped through the room. Dylan recoiled from the flame that seemed to lick at his skin. Silas cried out and snatched his hand from the other man's arm. The jovial look on Garner's face morphed into a sneer. “And, I told you. I will see Dylan Matthews.” Behind them, the double doors of the office slammed shut. The glare the tailor turned on him was downright sinister.
Dylan's eyes narrowed. What the hell was going on? How had Garner zapped the room? Dylan wasn't sure that was the correct term but there was little doubt the jolt of electricity had come from him. And the doors? Dylan squared his shoulders and crossed his arms over his chest, his stance defiant. Who the hell did Garner think he was storming into his house and forcing his way into his office?
“I think it's time you leave,” Dylan demanded. Garner laughed. Laughed! “Look buddy, I appreciate you taking the time to come out personally, but the staff is in the middle of preparations for a party, and I have work to do.”
Garner's face lost any amusement. His features contorted. “No, buddy,” he sneered. “It's you who needs to leave. You aren't wanted here. Go back where you came from, and I might let you live.”
“You're threatening me!” Dylan asked incredulous. Garner stalked toward him seeming to grow in stature. Menace radiated from eyes gone black as midnight. Orange fire danced in the center of his pupils.
“Its no threat. Ansleigh is mine, promised to me before your grandfather was a gleam in his mother's eyes.” Directly in front of him, Garner reached out and grasped him by the shirtfront and jerked him close enough, Dylan could smell the scent of tobacco on his breath. “You either go back where you came from or you die. It's that simple.”
