Dragon’s & Mistletoe
On a shopping trip to the mall with his brother-in-law, Lucas makes a bet he’s not one hundred percent sure he can win.
Christmas was Lucas’ favorite holiday and this year would be the best ever. Gone was his boring, less than stellar life. Now he had his dragon shifter mate and a family that actually liked to spend time with him. What more could he ask for?
Well, he wanted his mate to wear one of the ugliest Christmas Sweaters in the known universe. He had a hundred dollars riding on it. His mate could be as stubborn as a…well, a dragon, at times. He just might lose this bet, after all.

My Rating: 4 of 5 Stars
Lucas is just a man, suffering from headaches and wondering what it is with the balls of light leaving his body. What makes it even more curious is these lights keep his parent's plants alive and whenever they leave his body, the headaches disappear. Until the next one blooms and the lights appear. Wanting to go out to relax with his best friend lands him in a whole lot of trouble, especially when it involves killing lights, his friend killed and vampires hunting him down. Lucas runs.
Bennett lives in a quiet town where paranormals live side by side with human mates. He is just one of the many brothers and serves as his brother's beta. He is the enforcer and makes sure the other shifters in the community follow the law as set by his brother. He never thought he would meet a stranger and smell his mate. He never expected his mate to be other than human. He definitely never expected the vampires come to their town hunting his mate down.
Leave It All is just the beginning of what could be a very interesting series involving witches, vampires and weirdly, dragons. Usually these three don't mix, but in this case, they do. What is even more interesting is, the dragon is adopted and raised by a female witch and his brothers and one sister are all dragons who had somehow been left on the wayside. There are many characters other than the two main ones introduced and this story sets the foundation of what could be a deadly series. There is a war brewing and at the center of it is Lucas' power. He is the only male witch in existence, the one the vampires want. His role is set but is not totally explained, meaning, there is a lot more to be discovered as the series continues. At the end we are introduced to Garridan whose mate may just be standing right there at the end of this first installment.
Yes folks, this is hanging. The story of Bennett and Lucas ends but the next is introduced so its not really hanging. I was just left hanging here, wanting to find out more of Garridan, wanting to find out more what Lucas' power really is all about and of course, there is Gabriel who has yet to come home...
This was quite the enjoyable read and can't wait for the next installment to drop in my hands. Hope it picks up where Garridan leaves off... recommended for those who like shifters and dragons, vampires and more.
He ran that name through his mind over and over again. Lucas was his mate. This man with his blonde hair and his torn sweater. This was the man that went into the grocery store he realized all at once. No wonder Bennett had an urge to follow him around that day.
Lucas watched him with fear and lust all swirling together in those blue eyes. Bennett couldn’t do anything about Lucas’ fear. Until he actually held him in his arms, his dragon was going to be close to the surface. He breathed out, trying to calm himself some, but it was no use.
He knew the instant Lucas started reading him. He could feel him in his mind. Bennett could also hear everything Lucas was thinking, as if he was saying it out loud. Please don’t eat me. Please don’t eat me.
Lucas got this look of wonder on his face. He stared right at Bennett and said, “Cassie said I’d find protection. I didn’t really believe her until just now. And you’re supposed to be my lover—” Lucas’ eyes widened and Bennett knew in that moment he understood they were mates. “I feel what you feel. It’s never been like this with anyone before…Oh, fuck.”
Bennett drew Lucas to him then. Lucas’ eyes rolled to the back of his head and his hips cantered forward. Bennett felt Lucas’ hard cock against his thigh and he pushed into it.
“Get out, Forrest,” Bennett growled.
“What the fuck is happening? What did you do to him?”
Forrest tried to come around, but Bennett pulled Lucas to him. Lucas’ face was buried in Bennett’s chest. “Mine.” Bennet growled low in his throat and his teeth extended. He flashed them at Forrest.
“Oh…oh, shit. Right, sorry man. I didn’t get it right away.” Forrest walked out after that.
“Shh, Lucas. I’ve got you,” Bennett whispered to him. He bent forward and sniffed his neck. He smelled delicious. Bennett wanted to roll in that scent.
Lucas grunted. His hard cock pressed into Bennett’s thigh and stayed there. Lucas shuttered and clung to Bennett as he came. Bennett pulled back to look at him. He wanted to watch his little mate. Lucas was beautiful with those full lips open and those blue eyes wide taking up most of his face. Then those eyes closed as his body went limp in Bennett’s arms.
Bennett lifted him up off his feet, holding him close to his chest. Bennett could feel the panic rise up in his chest, burning like fire in his throat. “Call mom,” Bennett yelled and walked out of the garage with Lucas.
“What the fuck just happened?” Forrest asked, standing in the driveway.
“Call mom, Forrest. Now.”
“Fine. God. What am I supposed to tell her? You got weird and made Lucas pass out.”
