Three ebook giveaways will be up for grabs so make sure to come on down here and get to know just who and what this author is all about.

For this fourth week, we talk about the 3rd book of the Chronicles of the Earned Series.

Marked by Shadow (Chronicles of an Earned, #3)Published August 12th 2016 by eXtasy Books

While sorting through an old estate in the basement of an auction house, Nathan finds a gold bracelet with strange markings on it. He recognizes it as an ancient language and reads the inscription out loud. This makes him the master of a man, Lucien, cursed into shadow by the Thule society during WWII. As this whole new world of the paranormal is revealed to Nathan, he finds both love and a fierce loyalty from Lucien, the man now bound to him—a loyalty he is going to need, as the men who made Lucien into what he is want him back. And they are willing to kill anyone who stands in their way.

My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars

I am terribly disappointed this is not Kaleb's story. Which means, I am still glaring at the author for not giving me the pleasure of knowing what happens next. It's like, whoa! A splash of cold water or something and when I opened my eyes, it's a dude named Nathan and his discovery of gold bracelet and he becomes master to some character named Lucien. I don't know any of these guys...disappointment lasted a few minutes and then the read continued and oh boy. This was way better than I expected. True, I kept sighing over Kaleb, but this story.

No, it is not to the level of the first two books, which is surprising to say as I rated this just as high as the others. Why? Well, because it is such an interesting read and the fact that this is a standalone and seems to be not at all connected to the Earned world, it is connected in a much different way. As for the writing style? Again, horribly fantastic talent here in my hands and I am just wondering how Meraki Lyhne could even come up with these stories and not get lost? I mean, this is a huge world he's built and it's complicated, and compelling, and confusing, and so mind boggling it's weird.

Okay, I am not spoiling stuff, the other reviewers have done so already. What I am going to do is just say, I highly recommend this series and if you haven't picked it up yet, do so now. I am off to the fourth book. Excuse me... while I disappear!

About Meraki P. Lyhne and HP Caledon

Meraki P. Lyhne: Meraki P. Lyhne is a Danish author with a love for the paranormal and space opera. He has been writing space opera since 2007, but paranormal erotic romance is a newer love. Closing the door to his writing-den, he delves into elaborate stories and researches ancient religions, mythologies, and arts of the world to be inspired, so he can create new creatures of the paranormal. Meraki is transgender and was formerly known as she/her.

HP Caledon: Thinking there was only so much room for future worlds and chatty characters inside a person’s skull, HP Caledon decided to write some of it down to get some peace and quiet and be able to live in the present moment. Fat good that did—it just made room for more chatty characters! So, with coffee ad libitum and the occasional glass of red wine at the ready he has come to enjoy the run of characters and never-ending creativeness that this brought with it.

When not writing, he reads, trains Crossfit, studies all aspects of life and people, and enjoys more coffee.

HP Caledon is in his late thirties, Danish, and a blacksmith by trade.

  1. Meraki P. Lyhne is a new author to me so I haven't read one of her books yet but they do sound very intriguing and I have them on my wish list.
